An old age home is a place where old people are sheltered who do not have a home to live in, who have no one to look after them or who are thrown out by their loved ones or who do not want to keep them.

Bangladesh is a development country. There are many old people who have no place to stay. More than that, it is seen that most of the old people are kicked out of their homes by their children or left in old age homes by themselves. Bangladesh has lots of old age home that is : Probin Nibash BD, Peoples Old Home, CARE(Senior Citizen Housing), APON NIBAS OLD HOME, Child And Old Age Care, Akij Cottage, Subarta Trust etc.

All old age homes provide almost the same facilities, some of the common facilities are: they provide room with basic amenities, they provide medical care and emergency services, they give them nutrition meals , they always try to nit and clean their rooms, they ensuring a safe environment with handrails, they arrangements for doctor, trips and outing , they give them emotional and psychology support, they also help them paperwork and legal matters also.

Old age homes are facing lots of problems. Most serious problem is financial problem. Because of this problem many old age home are closed. Second problem is shortage of staff. Then they can't provide good healthcare and security. Lastly this old people feels too much alone and they feel emotional for their families and relatives.

As the old age homes face many problems, they expect a lot of help from our government and then from big businessmen and various organizations because at the root of all problems there is one problem which is about money. So we should and our government help as much as possible so that no old age homes are closed.
